Description
Rushing waters and the tall, cascading nature of waterfalls inspired this series. My intention with this collection was to capture the essence of a waterfall with a simplified look using the same elements of gravity and water; to take something in nature that is so powerful and fast, and provide an intentional pause that creates an idle, calm moment. It gives the viewer time and space to study the organic textures and forms that water creates. My hope is that this pause brings your awareness into the present and provides a moment of peace.
White and grey acrylic on Arches BFK Rives black paper with hand-torn edges. This original painting is hinge-mounted in a white wood gallery frame behind UV glass. All materials are high quality and acid-free for archival purposes. The painting is float mounted and raised off the mat board so it appears to float in the frame, allowing the hand-torn edges to be seen. The painting is signed on the front, titled on the back, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
